One of the most captivating aspects of Janmashtami is the Dahi Handi celebration, especially popular in Maharashtra. This event recreates the playful nature of young Krishna, who was fond of stealing butter. Teams of young men, known as Govindas, form human pyramids to reach and break a pot filled with butter or curd, hung high above the ground. This activity not only showcases physical strength and coordination but also serves as a reminder of the unity and camaraderie that Lord Krishna promoted.
